Text of the statement

The Yemeni Islah Party in the interim capital, Aden, followed with great regret the failed and sinful assassination attempt that Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, Governor of the Governorate, and Mr. Salem Al-Socotri, Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries subjected to, on Sunday afternoon, October 10, while their convoy was passing through the Al-Tawahi area. And this incident resulted in the deaths of a number of their innocent companions, including civilians, one of whom was a child.

And we in the Yemeni Islah Party in the interim capital of Aden affirm our condemnation of this heinous act and all terrorist and criminal acts that still target the security, stability and tranquility of Aden, its cadres and personalities from various forces and components, as well as the various social and professional groups.

This heinous criminal incident necessitates a serious stand by all in facing the series of assassinations and terrorism and working to save this peaceful historic city from the quagmire of bombings, assassinations and all kinds of violence that afflict its residents and threaten their present and future lives and interests.

At a time when the Islah Party in Aden renews its reminder that it and other components have suffered great harm as a result of the continuation of the series of assassinations in this governorate and its surroundings and renews its demand for a Yemeni, regional and international investigation into all these incidents, foremost of which is the assassination of the martyr Jaafar Muhammad Saad, the former governor of Aden and the attempt to assassinate the current governor Mr. Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, and the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Salem al-Socotri, it finds it a good occasion to emphasize the dangers of playing the security card and its consequences and repercussions.

The Islah Party also calls on all political and societal forces to unite their ranks and words in this regard and it calls upon those concerned with making decisions to deal with these incidents in the manner imposed on them by the national, humanitarian and moral responsibility, in addition to supporting the efforts that exerted by the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to implement the provisions of the Riyadh Agreement with all its security and the military details and vocabulary, which aims to unify all security services and military formations under the leadership of the Ministries of Interior and Defense.

May God has mercy on all the martyrs of the victims of terrorism, crime and violence, and may God save Aden and the whole country from the evildoers and criminals.
