Text of the statement

The Yemeni Islah Party strongly condemns the heinous assassination that targeted Mr. Bilal Mansour Al-Maysari, one of the leaders of the Islah Party in the city of Aden, in front of his house in the city of Mansoura in Aden Governorate. This is the terrorist crime that comes within a long series of political assassinations that targeted dozens of people from Aden and other Governorates who had the honor of confronting the Houthi coup project, and most of these victims were leaders and cadres of the Islah Party.

This heinous crime and the crimes that preceded it are a continuing bloody killing and assassinations since the militias took control of the interim capital, Aden, and it is an inevitable result of the absence of state agencies and institutions, especially the army and security services, and the scene was led by extremist and violent elements.

Also, this reckless terrorist assassination comes in light of the campaign of incitement, hate speech and the control of feelings of fear among the residents of the interim capital, Aden from the repercussions of violence, random arrests of citizens, and chaos arising from the multiplicity of non-state militias, army units and official security services, which turned the city into an arena for chaos and spreading fear among its citizens.

It has become clear that the methodology of terrorism and assassinations targeting civil and political activists and community dignitaries comes in the context of exchanging services and roles between violent militias and small projects that ravage the body of the homeland and the people and dispel their dreams of building a federal Yemen and restoring their state in light of their battle against the Houthi dynastic project with the support of the Arab Alliance led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

And at the time when the Yemeni Islah Party strongly condemns the return of the wave of organized violence and political assassinations targeting civilian figures in the city of Aden, in light of the obstacles placed before the completion of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, it calls for the following:

- It calls on the political leadership and the government to assume their responsibilities towards these criminal acts and to protect citizens from the cycle of violence and bloodshed that has been going on for years.

- We call on the government and its security services to play their role in prosecuting the perpetrators and bringing them to justice so that they can receive their deterrent punishment, and to quickly conduct investigations into all the assassination crimes and to reveal all those who stand behind them and those who incite violence and consider the blood of the people cheap.

- We call on the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as sponsors of the Riyadh Agreement, to exert more effort to pressure for the completion of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, especially the military and security part of it, in a manner that guarantees the return of the government and state institutions to Aden to exercise their constitutional and national tasks in completing the restoration of the state and defeating the coup of the Houthi militia which is the biggest beneficiary of the cycle of violence and chaos and the breeding of militias outside the state.

We call on the international community, the United Nations and the Security Council to form an international committee to investigate the crimes of assassination that took place in the city of Aden since 2016 until today, and to prosecute the perpetrators as war criminals.

- We call on local and international organizations concerned with human rights to condemn these terrorist acts and those behind them.

We ask God to have mercy on the martyrs who were victims of assassinations

Shame on terrorists, murderers and promoters of violence.
