The National Bloc of Political Parties and Components issued a statement today, Wednesday, strongly condemning the continued attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia, which Iran uses as a military tool in Yemen to implement its regional agenda, against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its threat to international maritime security.

The statement reads as follows:

The National Bloc of Political Parties and Components condemns in the strongest terms the continued attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia, which is the military tool used by the Iranian regime in Yemen to achieve its regional goals, against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its threat to international maritime security. This confirms a clear extension of Iranian policies aimed at destabilizing the region and undermining regional and international stability.

The Bloc affirms that these practices aim to push the region and the world toward further escalation, while the Yemeni people alone pay the price for these adventures through the impact on their security, economy, livelihoods, and the future of their country. Meanwhile, the militia's leaders remain entrenched in mountain caves, beyond any accountability or prosecution.

The Bloc expresses its strong rejection and full condemnation of the expansion of the aggression to include civilian targets within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, considering this a clear violation of international law and a direct threat to the security and stability of the region. This continued escalation highlights that the Houthi militia disregards peace and rejects coexistence, instead continuing to implement a private agenda linked to Iran, with no regard for the interests of Yemen and the Yemeni people.

The Bloc condemns the Houthis’ continued attacks on commercial and cargo ships in the Red Sea, including the targeting of Saudi and international vessels, such as the Indian ship that sank near the coast of Hodeidah. These actions constitute a serious threat to the freedom of international navigation and the safety of global trade routes, and endanger the lives of sailors and those working in the maritime sector. In this context, the coalition expresses its appreciation for the efforts exerted by the Yemeni Coast Guard and Navy in the Red Sea in rescue operations and humanitarian response to assist the crews of affected ships.

This repeated behavior clearly demonstrates that the Houthi militia's decisions are no longer purely Yemeni and independent, but have become part of a regional system managed by Iran. Iran is exploiting Yemeni territory and the security of the Red Sea as leverage to achieve its strategic interests and alleviate pressure on itself. Meanwhile, the Yemeni people continue to bear the brunt of this dependency, whether through the continuation of the war, the worsening economic and humanitarian crisis, or the attacks on ships carrying goods and food supplies, which exacerbate the suffering of millions and diminish the chances of restoring stability.

The National Bloc expresses its full solidarity with our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the victims of these attacks from various nationalities and countries. It also calls on the international community to treat these attacks as organized acts of maritime terrorism, to take decisive action against the Houthi militia leadership and their supporters in Iran, and not to be satisfied with containment policies that have proven ineffective in deterring this hostile behavior.

The National Bloc concludes its statement by emphasizing that restoring the Yemeni state and its legitimate institutions to full control over all Yemeni territory is the true key to ending the coup, liberating Yemen from Iranian influence, protecting international maritime security, and enhancing regional and international security and stability. It also appeals to the international community to provide the necessary political, economic, and military support to the legitimate authorities, as they are the primary guarantors of restoring the state and achieving sustainable peace in Yemen and the region.
