MP Insaf Mayo, Deputy Head of the Parliamentary Bloc of the Yemeni Islah Party and Head of the Executive Office of the Party in the interim capital Aden, met today, Tuesday, with His Excellency the Ambassador of South Korea to our country, Bong Kai Do.
Many issues of common interest were discussed during the meeting, which was attended by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Shami, Head of the Foreign Relations Office at the General Secretariat, and Dr. Ahmed Hala, Acting Head of the Political Department.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Islah delegation conveyed to His Excellency the Ambassador and the Korean people the congratulations of the party leadership on the occasion of the Korean New Year, as well as condolences for the Korean plane crash.
During the meeting, local, regional, and international developments were reviewed, as the Islah delegation renewed the party's gratitude to the friends in the Republic of Korea for their support for legitimacy their backing of it in all international forums, and their rejection of the terrorist Houthi coup.
The Islah delegation addressed the terrorist acts carried out by the Houthi militia against the Yemeni people for more than ten years. These acts have claimed the lives of tens of thousands of martyrs, wounded and disabled, killed and kidnapped opponents, confiscated homes and private and public property, recruited children, confiscated rights and freedoms, violated the public interests of the people, and blew up homes over the heads of their residents, as happened in besieged Taiz, Al-Baydha, Hajour, Utumah, and other human rights violations.
The Islah delegation stressed the legitimacy's urgent need for support from Korean friends in the humanitarian, relief, and development fields, especially relief for the displaced and homeless in refugee camps, in addition to supporting the national economy and the government's economic rescue plan to limit the deterioration of the national currency.
For his part, His Excellency the Korean Ambassador welcomed the representatives of the Islah leadership, reiterating his country's support for Yemen and its legitimate institutions, most notably the Presidential Leadership Council and the legitimate government, as well as supporting Yemen's sovereignty, unity, stability, and territorial integrity.
The meeting was attended from the Korean side by the Counselor at the Embassy, Jin Jokim.
