The National Bloc of Political Parties and Components welcomes the executive decision issued by US President Donald Trump on January 22, 2025, to classify the Houthi militia as a foreign terrorist organization. This decision comes after the international community realized the danger of this terrorist group that practiced violence and terrorism to seize Yemeni cities, destroy infrastructure, threaten regional and international peace, and attack neighboring countries, in addition to undermining vital global interests in the Red Sea, which posed a major threat to international trade, commercial ships, civilians, and military personnel in the region.

The bloc affirms its full support for this decision, stressing the importance of this classification as a decisive step towards ending the Houthi coup and restoring the Yemeni state and its legitimate institutions. It also calls on the international community to intensify its efforts to cut off the sources of funding for this terrorist group and take decisive measures to ensure that the flow of weapons to it stops and to provide the necessary support to Yemen to achieve stability and peace.

The National Bloc calls on the Presidential Leadership Council to seize this historic opportunity and interact positively with this decision by seeking to end the coup with a Yemeni national agenda that places the interests of the Yemeni people above all considerations. The bloc also stresses the importance of unifying all political and military forces in Yemen to achieve the supreme goal of ending the coup and restoring state institutions, in line with the desire of the Yemeni people to be freed from the grip of this terrorist group. The Yemeni people, who have suffered under the yoke of this group, deserve to see serious national and international measures to put an end to this tragedy and restore Yemen's security, stability, and regional and global standing.
