The Supreme Council of National Political Parties and Components affirmed, in a press release, its support for all political efforts through the forces within its framework to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and restore hope for stability, and its readiness to assist the state and its agencies in finding practical and rapid solutions to the current crisis.

The Supreme Council of National Parties and Components held an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, by presiding Dr. Ahmed Obaid bin Dagher, Chairman of the Supreme Council, in light of the economic downturn and the continued collapse of the value of the Yemeni riyal against foreign currencies. The meeting discussed the current situation facing Yemen.

The Council stressed that these crises have burdened the Yemeni citizen sufficiently and increased his suffering as the collapse of basic services such as electricity, water, education, and health, which has deepened the humanitarian crisis in various Governorates.

During the meeting, the Supreme Council decided to send a letter to the President and members of the Supreme Council of the Presidency of the Republic requesting an urgent meeting to discuss the current situation.

 The Supreme Council expressed its readiness to support all political efforts through the forces within its framework to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people restore hope for stability, and help the state and its agencies find practical and rapid solutions to the current crisis.

The Council also stressed the importance of moving forward in establishing a national oversight body to combat corruption. The Council stressed the need to complete investigations into corruption cases and hold accountable those proven guilty of corruption to enhance the prestige of the state and restore confidence in its institutions.

The Council stressed that it is necessary at this stage for everyone to assume responsibility and work in a spirit of national cooperation to address the economic and humanitarian crisis in a way that responds to the aspirations of the Yemeni people, achieves stability and development, and strengthens our national position in confronting the terrorist Houthi militias.
