An independent Yemeni human rights report issued by the National Commission to Investigate Alleged Violation to Human Rights showed the recruitment of 126 children by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia, in addition to planting 85,000 landmines during the past year.
The report documented 271 cases of forcible outplacement, of which the Houthi group was responsible for 109 cases, while the Security Belt Forces were responsible for 152 cases, and 10 other cases were regestered against other parties that were not named by the Commission.
Regarding the facts of human rights violations related to international humanitarian law and human rights law during the period from August 1, 2019 to July 31, 2020, the report indicated that the Commission was able to complete the investigation of 2,940 cases of violations in various governorates.
According to the report, the cases included more than 30 types of violations, where the total number of victims in these violations reaching 6,163. The Commission had listened to 14,983 witnesses, whistleblowers and victims, in addition to verifying their testimonies and statements, and examining 14,265 documents, in addition to reviewing and analyzing hundreds of photos and videos related to these incidents.
According to the Commission's report, the Commission has completed the investigation into the killing of 712 civilians, including 66 women and 122 children, and the injury of 935 others, including 113 women and 247 children, throughout the governorates due to the targeting of protected neighborhoods and areas.
The Commission investigated 21 incidents of bombing and attacks on cultural and historical objects, and 9 incidents of attacks on medical personnel and health facilities, where the Houthi militia topped the list of violators. The report also monitored the recruitment of 126 children and 85.000 incidents of planting landmines, and the responsible for all these incidents are the Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime.
