Tomorrow, April 5, 2020, at 7:00 PM, an online popular campaign will be launched to demand the disclosure of the fate of one of the most prominent political action leaders in Yemen, the member of the Supreme Authority of the Yemeni Islah Party, Muhammad Qahtan.

The activists announced that the online campaign will be in the same hashtag (#FreeQahtan), where previous campaigns carried out under the same hashtag to demand the release of the veteran politician and the disclosure of his fate, in light of the mysterious abduction's conditions subjected to, and the forcible disappearance and diseases he has suffered since he was abducted by the Houthi militia from his home in Sanaa on April 5, 2015.

This year, this campaign coincides with international calls for the release of abductees and prisoners in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the dangers threatening thousands of prisoners in Yemen.

It is noteworthy that the family of the political leader Muhammad Qahtan has been unaware of his fate since his abduction, and the militias refused to allow his family to communicate with him or visit him and have not reported where he was forcibly disappeared until this moment.

The annual campaign of solidarity with the most prominent political action leaders enjoys great interaction because the struggler Muhammad Qahtan represents an icon for a man of peace and dialogue.

This campaign comes a few days after a large popular campaign in which international organizations participated, calling for the release of all prisoners and abducted people, as a precaution against the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, in light of the deteriorating prison conditions and fears for thousands of kidnapped people in the prisons of the Houthi militia.
