The southern society in Yemen was surprised on Friday by the unprecedented escalation of demonstrations by the members of the Southern Transitional Council, which headed to the headquarters of the Saudi forces in Aden governorate, denouncing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and describing it with the worst descriptions, in an unexpected way, especially since Saudi Arabia adopted the end of last year discussions of calming between the Southern Transitional Council and the Yemeni Government, which led to the signing of the Riyadh Agreement between the two sides.

Dozens of demonstrators had gone out towards the headquarters of the Saudi forces stationed in the al-Burayqa region, in the governorate of Aden, which is the headquarters of the Arab Alliance in Yemen, and chanted anti-Saudi slogans and demanded that they leave the country.

The demonstrators carried banners against Saudi Arabia, which gives an indication that this demonstration was carried out with facilitating and coordinating with the security and military services of the Southern Transitional Council, which is supported by the UAE.

Video recordings showed that the head of the Mass Department in the Southern Transitional Council in Aden, Abdul Rahman Gandhi, had led this demonstration against Saudi Arabia, which headed to the headquarters of the Saudi forces in Yemen, in Aden governorate.

One of the leaders of the demonstration accused Saudi Arabia of manipulating the Yemeni issue and of not fulfilling its promises, particularly with regard to the issue of the south. He said, "Saudi Arabia has not fulfilled its obligations with us, even though we have fulfilled what we have committed ourselves to." This is a speech that suggests that it represents the speech of the Southern Transitional Council in this regard, relating to the terms of the Riyadh Agreement, which is still the subject of the great controversy between the legitimate Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council sponsored by Saudi Arabia.

He added, "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is not with us, and everyone should understand that it has never been and will never be with us, but against us, we, the sons of the south." He described Saudi Arabia as the "backward imperialist regime" and said, "Saudi Arabia is the one that played against us, and it will pay the cost, we will invade it inside its territory... We will not accept buying and selling and will fight on our land."

A southern political source, who preferred not to be named, said that this disaffected demonstration against Riyadh came as a result of what the UAE played in nurturing the popular heritage inherited in the thought of the Southern Transitional Council and its political ideology, which is hostility against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

And Yemeni politicians considered that this escalation by the Southern Transitional Council against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, "a dangerous escalatory stance, threatening to end up the Riyadh Agreement if it was not an official announcement of its death and move to other options."

They cited the departure of the Yemeni Prime Minister in the legitimate government, Mu'in Abdul-Malik, the city of Aden heading to the Saudi capital, Riyadh, which was considered an indirect government announcement to reach a dead end with the Southern Transitional Council on the Riyadh Agreement, which renounces its obligations stipulated in the terms of this Agreement, despite the government's commitment to all its own items.
