86 civilians were killed and injured by Houthi militia shells in Hodeidah during the month of January

A military source revealed that 86 civilians were killed and wounded by the indiscriminate shelling of Houthi militias on two districts in Hodeidah Governorate (western Yemen).

The spokesperson for the joint forces in the western coast of Yemen, Waddah al-Dubaish, said that the number of civilian deaths with Houthi shells during last January reached 24, most of them from the two cities of Hays and al-Tahita (south of Hodeidah), while 62 others sustained various injuries.

He added - in a statement carried by the agency "Anatolia" - "These statistics were reached through the implementation of monitoring and registration carried out by the teams of our forces in a number of hospitals distributed in a number of West Coast cities."

He explained that "all this is done in full view of the UN mission without moving a finger."

On October 23, 2019, the United Nations concluded the deployment of 5 ceasefire observation points between government forces and the Houthis in Hodeidah, as part of efforts to peacefully resolve the situation in the governorate based on the Stockholm Agreement.
