5 years of gloomy scenes .. Yemeni women in the range of Houthi crime

Yemeni Coalition for Monitoring Human Rights Violations (RASD) said that the number of abducted, disappeared and tortured women, which the RASD Coalition was able to reach, amounted to 303 women in various Yemeni governorates during the period from September 2014 to May 2019.

In a report issued by it on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, RASD monitoring team has documented since 2014 that the Houthi coup militia abducted many Yemeni women in the capital and a number of Yemeni governorates, and the subjection of many women working in the field of humanitarian, media and human rights to abduction.

The report pointed out that the number of abducted women documented by RASD Coalition for the same period amounted to 220 women, including 87 political female activists, 30 students, 10 women from the Baha'i minority community, 6 female human rights activists and two journalists. The highest abduction rates were recorded in Sana'a, where the number of victims was 204 women.

The report pointed out that Yemeni women were not spared from the horrific violations suffered by men in areas controlled by the Houthi militia, where the militia abducted and tortured 87 women for the period from the beginning of 2018 to May 2019, as well as it killed and caused the death of 199 women, during the same period. The report also stressed that the worst outcome of the Houthi war on women is their sense of fear and insecurity because fear for their lives, their children, their husbands and their families from the repercussions of the war and its daily effects, and assault on life and physical integrity is a daily bother and a human tragedy that women experience in Yemen every day.

Horrible violations

These figures are only part of the grim picture that the Yemeni women suffer from in areas under the control of the Iranian Houthi militia for nearly five years, otherwise, the scene looks darker in the light of a large number of flagrant abuses that have not been documented or not been reported because of fear of the oppression of the militia.

Unlike the almost daily killings that the Yemeni women subject to and large numbers of casualties caused by the shelling of residential neighborhoods and homes, the number of women victims of Houthi mines has not ceased, hardly a day goes by without civilian casualties, especially women and children, who fall as a result of more than a million Houthi mines ambuscade their lives and wait for women on farms and roads.

The phenomenon of assault on women considers peculiar to the Yemeni society, which is ruled by customs and traditions that give women sanctity. Overcoming this sanctity considers a black defect in the Yemeni custom, but the Houthi militias with the Iranian sectarian methodology have exceeded all these customs reaching everything that provokes society and violates its dignity, customs and traditions starting from assaulting women with beatings, abductions, enforced disappearances and torture.

It reached its limit when the Yemeni Organization for Combat Human Trafficking (YOCHT) Organization (Civil Society Organization) revealed earlier this year that women were arrested, detained in a villa on Taiz Street south of the capital Sana'a, and taken overnight to the Houthi-controlled Criminal investigation department for conducting an investigation under torture.

The organization confirmed that it had received at that time a number of reports of the disappearance of women in the capital and Sana'a governorate, which the abduction and enforced disappearance of Yemeni women began to emerge as a phenomenon during the last three years.

Houthi is the enemy of Yemeni women

In the light of the tragic situation of the war years sparked by the Houthi militia, women are still paying the price of the war bill for the fifth year. If they are not the direct victim, they have become widows or bereaves who have lost one of their sons or lost their work and source of income, and their family's life has narrowed. The crises used by the Houthi leaders to enrich them, led the women to go out and search for domestic gas and humanitarian aid.

A year ago the starving people uprising in Sana'a, revolting in the face of hunger made by Iranian militias, came out, and Yemeni women were at the forefront of this popular uprising, which the Houthi rebelled militia met with brutal assault on unarmed women who got out because of poverty and hunger. The Houthi militia violated all values and customs and assaulted Sana'a University female students with batons and electric sticks, and many were arrested and imprisoned.

In the areas of coup-dominated Yemeni women face patterns of abuse and bear the scourge of the Houthi war on Yemen and Yemenis, and have become at the forefront of the victims of the war and live their suffering physically, psychologically and morally, in light of the absence of international organizations concerned with women's rights, except the issuing of some shy statements, which avoids mention the perpetrators.

Perhaps the simplest form of the daily suffering of Yemeni women is what is embodied by the Association of the Abductees' Mothers. They live daily suffering as a result of the absence of their sons in the Houthi prisons, subjected to torture, while living a real tragedy and subjected to cruel treatment during the search for their sons.

Shoveling the identity of Yemeni women

The Iranian hatred militia did not stop at this limit, but instead it resorted to carry out a dangerous plan targeting women and shoveling the identity of Yemeni women and targeted girls' schools and women's Qur'anic centers with sectarian propaganda programs that undermined Islamic faith and national identity.

The Houthi militia forces women in areas under its control to attend activities that it considers "educational activities", in which it practices the most heinous forms of incitement to hatred and violence. The contents of glorifying the Houthi dynasty is presented in these activities. The handbooks of the group's founder, Hussein al-Houthi, are presented as a presumption of the Koran, and sectarian holiness and terrorist symbols such as the terrorist leader of Hezbollah and the leader of the Iranian regime are promoted.

Zeinabiyat .. The Iranian wording

Also the Houthi militia has copied many of Hezbollah's experiences in Lebanon and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in organizational, military and security construction, and propaganda programs and bulldozing of communities, it has gone the same way with regard to the female side, as it established a women's military-security apparatus and called it the Zeinabiyat, it is a sectarian nomenclature was copied entirely.

The notorious name, the Zeinabiyat, has become a Houthi women's militia, a tool of terror for society and Yemeni women, a weapon for further murder and intimidation, and a clear simulation of a sectarian project exporting from Iran through the mobilization of the entire society, including women.

The recruitment of women to the Houthi militia has become a strategy serving the Iranian project, which is based on terror of all segments of society, where these female recruits are transformed into human monsters that terrorize and practice all forms of intimidation and violations such as storming homes, assaulting women, and suppressing any protests because of the situations and all this happens in a Muslim society ruled by customs and traditions that make women inviolable, no one dares, no matter how his strong to assault them.
