The Arab Parliament announced today the classification of the Houthis as a terrorist group, calling on the United Nations to take a similar decision.

In a joint press conference held by the Chairman of the Arab Parliament, Dr. Meshaal bin Fahm al-Salami with the Chairman of the Yemeni Parliament, Sheikh Sultan Al-Barakani in Cairo today, al-Salami said that the Arab Parliament is working to classify the Houthi militias as a terrorist group, stressing that the humanitarian assistance provided by the United Nations is being looted by these militias.

The Chairman of the Arab Parliament called on the United Nations to compel the Houthis to deliver this assistance to the Yemeni people.

Al-Salami pointed out that the Houthis "do not have a draft state, but follow a regional project which is the project of Iran," announcing a draft resolution of the Arab Parliament to classify the Houthi militias as a terrorist group.

For his part, the Chairman of the Yemeni Parliament Sultan al-Barakani said that there are indications by the UN envoy that he was fed up with the actions and contradictions of the Houthi coup militia, and came close to the fact that the Houthis do not believe in peace.

During the press conference, al-Barakani noted the reports of international humanitarian organizations to the United Nations, which confirm the Houthis' takeover of relief aid.

Al-Barakani stressed that the threats of the Houthi coup militia to issue death sentences against members of the Yemeni Parliament and confiscate their homes and properties will not deter them from moving forward in order to make victory for the constitutional legitimacy, defeat the coup and restore the state.

"The members of the Yemeni Parliament continue to carry out their national duties and will not be deterred by those threats," he said. "What is happening in Yemen is aimed at the whole region, which is expanding east and west to target Arab national security in full."

Al-Barakani pointed out to the suffering of the people of Yemen from the disaster of the coup against the legitimacy, a devastating war, the elimination of all forms of freedoms and the beating and disruption of the peace and social fabric by a terrorist gang does not recognize international conventions and treaties, pointing out that the Houthi coup militia implements Iran's expansionist agenda and threatens the security and stability of the region in an unprecedented manner. And based on the above, the Houthi group should be classified in its natural case as a terrorist gang that has eliminated everything inside the country.

Al-Barakani condemned the attack on the passenger lounge at Abha airport, as well as the targeting of oil vessels off the coast of the UAE and Oman, considering it a terrorist act.

Al-Barakani said "Our calls for peace have collided with a gang that does not believe in peace as an option at all and does not believe in any dialogue or peace agreement. It turned against the Stockholm agreement, which was sponsored by the United Nations, and this agreement was a real test of the peace agreement, but they only have a death option, including the trial of members of the Yemeni Parliament, who are representatives of the people and the seizure of their property and the destruction of their homes, which has not happened in the history of parliaments."

The Chairman of the Parliament added by saying, "We are fully convinced that we will win and will not give up at all and we will restore the state despite the disaster of the war launched by the Houthi militias," calling on the media to get closer to the reality of the situation and convey the clear picture and work for the benefit of Arab national security, which is today subjected to the most serious violations and risks with alarming indicators about it.
