Islah and its leadership in the target of terrorism...

Houthi, al-Qa'eda and ISIS... Complementarity of roles and diversity of tools

الخميس 07 فبراير-شباط 2019 الساعة 07 مساءً / Al-Islah.net — Exclusive

Sanctuaries of terrorism in Yemen seemed clear and unmistakable, and terrorism has a triple-faced focus, through many evidences that prove the monism of source and target, even if the shape and logo are different.

Triple-colored terrorism (Houthi, al-Qaeda and ISIS), despite the ideological contradiction, but the cover is Iran that supports the subversion projects in the Arab world and sponsors the violence groups, whether it is officially sponsored as it is with Houthi in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon and other armed militias in Arab countries or through terrorist groups that have main mission represented in detonating, destroying and killing what the militias have failed to do.

In the last few days, the Yemeni Ministry of Interior has revealed the arrest of terrorist cells belonging to the Houthi group operating under the name of ISIS and al-Qaeda. These cells were working to destabilize security, stability, targeting state leaders and carrying out assassinations.

This is the last thread that is consecutively revealed, in which also reveals that Houthi's terrorist militias provide cover for al-Qaeda and ISIS organizations and with the sponsoring of Iran and its project, which fosters chaos in the region and manages terrorist cells to blackmail the world, and then lets Houthi to blackmail the region on the pretext of fighting terrorism.

Complementarity of roles

When alQaeda and ISIS are unable to reach the target, the Houthi militias are present as an alternative as happened in early January, when the Iran-linked Houthi militia attacked on the military base of al-Anad belonging to the Yemeni army in the governorate of Lahj by using a booby-trapped drone. This operation resulted in the killing of a number of soldiers, a few days later, the head of military intelligence, Major General Muhammad Saleh Tamah, and the deputy chief of staff, General Saleh al-Zindani, were martyred.

In the past mid-January, Deputy Prime Minister of Interior, Eng. Ahmed Al-Maisari, revealed new evidence related to the Houthi terror. Al-Maisari talked about new evidence that prove the involvement of the Houthi coup militias in the implementation of several terrorist attacks targeting security and military leaders in the interim capital of Aden and some of the Yemeni governorates liberated under the name of the two terrorist organizations of al-Qaeda and ISIS to destabilize security and stability in order to show the legitimate government and its security services as non-capable of carrying out their tasks of maintaining security and stability in the liberated governorates.

During his peaking at a press conference held in Aden, al-Maisari said that the anti-terrorist forces in Lahj governorate had arrested a terrorist cell that carried out terrorist operations and assassinations in Aden. This cell was funded by the Houthi militia. In addition, this cell had confessed that it trained in Dhamar and Sanaa at the hand of Houthi leaders to carry out assassinations and bombings in the interim capital of Aden and the rest of the liberated Yemeni governorates and that it carried out assassinations and bombings targeted military and security leaders in the interim capital Aden. Pointing out that there are strong evidence of the involvement of the Houthi coup militias in supporting and financing terrorism represented by the organization of al-Qaeda and ISIS as well as financing the implementation of many terrorist operations.

Terror of drones

However, the terror of the Houthi militia has become more capable and organized through the possession of booby-trapped drones by the militias. A few days ago, the Abaad Studies & Research Center issued a report entitled “Suicide Drones... Houthi Strategic Weapon,” in which it said that Houthi militias are using these drones to liquidate political accounts in the future in case of reaching a political solution. The militias also use these drones outside the state in implementing terrorist operations to target commercial ships and oil companies in the region and the world as a whole, which may encourage terrorist groups such as al-Qaeda and ISIS to possess the drones and carry out acts of terrorism as it became the easiest and fastest way to carry out suicide bombings instead of booby-trapped cars. And this technology could be exploited by Houthi to sponsor and support sectarian groups in the region.

It has become clear since the Houthis coup carried out in September 2014 how the terrorist organizations in Yemen exploited the instability of the security situation provided by Houthi for expansion. However, the efforts to combat terrorism between the Yemeni army and the Arab Alliance contributed to the decline of the terrorism sponsored by the Iranian Houthi militias in liberated areas. And when the Houthi militias feel they are suffocated, and they are backstepped as a result of the strikes of the national army and the Arab Alliance, these militias resort to intensify cooperation with al-Qa'eda and ISIS for implementing common processes in the liberated areas to widen the space of terrorism.

Terrorizing the truth and its voice

Just yesterday, Deputy Director of a police station of the Directorate of al-Moka, Adel Al-Saadi, revealed during a press conference that the investigations conducted by the security services and the competent authorities have achieved advanced results in relation to identify those involved in the crime of terrorist bombing that targeted a restaurant in the city in last January 28. The incident resulted in many civilian martyrs and wounded, including journalists who work for the Abu Dhabi Media Network.

He said that the perpetrators escaped immediately after the implement of the crime, and they are currently in areas controlled by the terrorist Houthi militias, and this is an evidence of the monism of the terrorism targeting directly journalists and media. The Houthi militias have committed the most heinous crimes and abuses against Yemeni journalists and media professionals by killing and attacking them directly, raiding and looting newspapers' headquarters, channels and radio stations, as well as blocking websites and social media platforms in systematic campaigns aimed at silencing voices that reveal their horrific crimes.

Perhaps the most heinous crime committed by the Iran-backed Houthi militias is the famous crime of the “Massacre of Harran” in Dhamar, which killed dozens of activists and politicians who were placed by the Houthis as human shields in May of 2015, including the correspondent of the channels Suhail and Yemen Shabab Yousif al-Eizari, Abdullah Qabil and the leader in the Yemeni Islah Party in Ibb Mr. Amin al-Rajawi.

The Yemeni Islah Party in the terrorism's goal

This is the terrorism practiced by Houthi in the north and all categories of people fall into their own goal. And this terrorism has killed many of the leaders of the Islah Party who have been assassinated, as exactly happened in the assassination of a number of Party's leaders, including senior leader Hassan al-Ya'iri in Dhamar in 2016.

As for the south, this time the Houthi terrorism integrates with the front of al-Qaeda and ISIS, which assassinated many military and civilian leaders, and directs terrorist arrows towards all the figures who had prominent roles in resisting the Houthi militias and liberating Aden. These terrorist organizations assassinated dozens, most of them leaders and cadres of the Yemeni Islah Party, which was the most affected by the triple terrorism in north and south.

Just as Houthi terrorism — closely linked to other terrorist organizations — has targeted the Islah Party's leadership with assassinations, arrests and disappearances, the Party's headquarters in the north and south were targeted, where these headquarters were attacked, plundered, destroyed and burned, at the time Houthi militias and the organizations that are compatible with its project spread the culture of terrorism in Yemeni society as a whole.
